Behind the Brand

Good morning! As my final 'intro' blog post while I start up this business of mine, I thought I'd do a quick chat about this brand of mine! 

Why

Why start a business? Well, it's something I've always thought about doing, I've blogged in the past and have a never-ending love of creating. Since most of my wardrobe are me-mades and I'm running out of things to make for myself, I figured I'd love to make things for people. Whilst I'll never sell clothes (too much work!) I love making things for people, and I also have discovered I love educating people on my crafts, such as my sewing, crochet and knitting. So, Gingham Stitches was born - a creative hub in the making and hopefully you all love what I make, enough to buy it and have them in your homes. 

Behind the name

I wanted something super simple but personal and somehow related to sewing and yarn. Naturally, Stitches fits all my hobbies, so that stuck. And for a personal touch, I thought about what I normally gravitate towards for my creative stuff. I looked within my wardrobe, my fabric collection, my Pinterest boards, my ravelry - there was a fairly common theme, gingham. I had a few other ideas and thought about them all as combinations for far longer than I'd like to admit, and settled on Gingham Stitches. 

As for the other tidbits, the colours (blue, yellow and the occasional pink), are just my favourite colours to play and pair with. The loopy funky font is somewhat similar to my own scrawl and I wanted a font I ultimately wouldn't get tired of.
