Creative Goals of 2025
Good morning! I love a little bit of creativity, a new year and some planning! Today I'm talking about my creative goals are for 2025, I usually like to sit on them for the first week or so into the year, then lock in what the plans are.
Overall, I'd like to have one WIP per medium. So one sewing, one crochet, one sweater, one other knit project, and one cross stitch project. I'm already relatively close to this goal, so it shouldn't take too far into the year to get to that point! The challenge is truly sticking to it through to the end of the year.
Yarny wise, I'm hoping to use up 2025 grams of yarn throughout 2025. Simple, hopefully doable and I'm going to try use up what I already have first! I'm planning a few cotton makes with crochet this year, so that'll definitely take up a few hundred grams.
Fabric wise, I'm planning on doing the Whole 30 fabric challenge 🤣 I can't locate which Instagram account I saw this on but I thought it was a hilarious idea! So I'll be using up at least 30 metres from my collection, which really shouldn't be too hard?
This next one, I was thinking just for sewing, but realised I could do this with my yarny stuff too? Make 12 garments:
- Make 2 dresses
- Make 2 pants
- Make 2 shorts
- Make 2 skirts
- Make 2 tops
- Make the husband 2 button downs
And finally, I'm doing Make 9, but with fabric! Not being specific with patterns this year, because sometimes I get to cutting it out and then I'm sad because I no longer like that pattern... So I'm letting the fabrics guide me.
From left to right, top to bottom...
- It's a purple-blue seersucker type fabric I bought years ago from Spotlight, it's been in my collection for ages! It's not opaque and so I'm a little unsure what to make with it, but this is the year I use it!
- This sparkly lurex knit is so hard to photograph, it's like a medium dark blue and is SO COOL. I'm thinking a top, but will see what patterns I discover over this year.
- My favourite liberty print at the moment! This is a cotton twill, I'm thinking pants, or maybe even a dress/jumpsuit?
- Bought this quilting cotton from Spotlight last year, I'm thinking some skorts?
- Another quilting cotton from Spotlight, it's the perfect golden yellow that I LOVE. no plans really, pants maybe?
- This butter yellow knit will be a top of some sort, probably for winter, as I love wearing colour to brighten up the cold.
- This golden yellow slub is excellent, the drape is so lovely! No plans yet, but I love the feel of it. Maybe a matching set??
- I've been holding onto this cotton for a bit, it's from Molly Molly Fabrics, her designs are so stunning! Still no plans oops, but need to wear it asap as I feel like I'd wear this pattern once a week!
- Finally, this pink seersucker also from Spotlight. I originally bought it to make a top, unsure if it'll be a top but it's stunning to touch and has the loveliest texture!
As you can tell, bit of a yellow, blue and pink fan here. Can't wait to see what all of these will turn into!
